Talks with Gregory Sholette and Nick Srnicek in Lisbon

Having collaborated in previous editions of Electra, authors Gregory Sholette and Nick Srnicek will be speaking in Lisbon this week.

An artist, writer, activist and curator whose research examines the relationship between art and politics, Gregory Sholette will speak at Voz do Operário on June 1st about The Art of Activism and the Activism of Art, in a conference organised by the Art History Institute of NOVA FSCH. Sholette wrote for the dossier on Contemporary Art of issue 14 of Electra.

One of the authors of the Accelerationist Manifesto and Visiting Professor of Digital Economy at the Department of Digital Humanities at King's College London, Nick Srnicek will speak at Palácio Sinel de Cordes on The Political Economy of Artificial Intelligence, examining the impact of AI on the future of the economy and work. Taking place on June 1st, this talk is part of the event Human Entities 2022: culture in the age of artificial intelligence. With Helen Hester, Nick Srnicek wrote an article dedicated to the theme of Work and Post-work, dossier of issue 10 of Electra.
