The work selected to represent Portugal at the Biennale and to be presented at Fondaco Marcello, from 9 May to 22 November 2026, with the support of EDP Foundation, is Alexandre Estrela’s project ‘RedSkyfalls’, curated by Ana Baliza and Ricardo Nicolau.
For Electra 32, the artist and his team have prepared a revealing extension of the RedSkyFalls project, conceived and graphically structured for the pages of the magazine, which will be distributed during the exhibition’s opening programme on 8 May.
Electra has been the editorial partner of the Portuguese Official Representation at the Venice Biennale in its most recent editions: in 2022 with the project ‘Vampires in Space’ by Isadora Neves Marques, which was featured in The Book of Hours of Electra 17, and in 2024 with ‘Greenhouse’, a project by Mónica de Miranda, Sónia Vaz Borges and Vânia Gala, which was highlighted in Electra 24.
Electra will be present at ARCOlisboa 2026 from 28 to 31 de May, and Lisbon book Fair, from 27 May to 14 June.
A revista Electra passa a estar disponível no Brasil, nas lojas da Livraria da Travessa no Rio de Janeiro e em São Paulo, reforçando a sua presença junto dos leitores brasileiros.
The works of author Yves Citton and artist and filmmaker Hito Steyerl, contributors to issue #32 of Electra magazine, are being showcased in Braga.
